Welcome to Adare Bypass

Reduce congestion and improve the urban environment of the heritage town of Adare .

The Adare Bypass objectives are driven by the need to improve the urban environment of the heritage town of Adare and will increase road capacity, reducing journey times and improving safety for road users.

The bypass spans approximately 7 km, extending from Croagh to Adare. It includes:

  • Two grade-separated junctions at Adare and Croagh.
  • A three-span bridge over the River Maigue, with a central clear span of about 95 meters.
  • Four additional river bridges, three signage gantries, and seven overbridges/underbridges.
  • Two new railway bridges over the Limerick to Foynes railway line, which is currently being recommissioned.
  • Extensive earthworks, drainage systems, and utility diversions
