The Dunkettle Interchange Upgrade works includes the modification of the existing Silversprings junction on the N8 Lower Glanmire Road comprising:
- Construction of a new raised central reserve on the N8 Lower Glanmire Road
- Reconfiguration of the N8 westbound diverge
- Reconfiguration of the N8 eastbound merge and diverge
- Pedestrian and cycling facilities
These advance works will improve safety while regularising driver behaviour at the junction.
Existing Congestion at the Silversprings Interchange
When these changes are complete road users will see improvement in :
- Road quality
- Facilities for pedestrians and cyclists
- User safety at the junction
